Senior Databricks Resident Solutions Architect in Winnipeg

We are seeking a Senior Databricks Resident Solutions Architect to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert-level solutions to our enterprise clients. As an RSA, you will work directly with clients to design, architect, and implement scalable data solutions on the Databricks platform. This is a high-impact technical leadership position that requires deep expertise in data engineering, cloud architectures, and Apache Spark internals.

You will manage complex client engagements and lead large-scale projects. You will design and deploy production-grade end-to-end data architectures using Databricks Lakehouse, leveraging advanced concepts such as Genie Spaces, Agents, and Genie Code. You will lead enterprise-scale projects from initial discovery through successful delivery, managing multiple technical and business stakeholders.

Your expertise in Apache Spark and distributed computing will be critical as you architect complex data systems that process large volumes of data efficiently. You will provide strategic technical guidance on cloud data strategies across AWS, Azure, and GCP, helping clients make informed decisions about their data infrastructure investments.

In addition, you will develop comprehensive technical documentation and architecture diagrams to communicate complex solutions to stakeholders at all levels. You will build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary technical point of contact for assigned accounts. You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies for production data environments. You will mentor junior team members and contribute to the success of broader initiatives within the organization.

• Skills:
• 12+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, data platforms & analytics.
• Comfortable writing code in either Python or Scala.
• Extensive working knowledge of Databricks is required.
• Experience with advanced Databricks concepts such as Genie Spaces, Agents, and Genie Code.
• Experience handling or leading large-scale projects/customers.
• Working knowledge of two or more common cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Apache Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps.
• Capable of design and deployment of highly performant end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience with technical project delivery – managing scope and timelines.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.
• Experience in building scalable streaming and batch solutions using cloud-native components.

• Preferred Skills:
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional Certification.
• Experience working on high demanding projects and handling large clients.
• Prior experience working in the Databricks Partner Program.
