The impact you will have:
- The Senior Business Manager is the business operator and strategic partner to the Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) who own P&L results across Softchoice’s sales regions and segments. This role translates regional strategy, growth targets, and P&L accountability into clear, measurable execution across multiple regions, segments, and teams.
- The Senior Business Manager owns the regional business plan, scorecard, and business outlook, and has direct influence over and day-to-day management of the P&L levers behind them. The role acts as a trusted advisor to the RVPs on performance, investment, and organizational decisions.
- The role runs the region’s operating rhythm, shapes resource and investment recommendations, and leads cross-functional alignment with Sales Operations, Finance, HR, Enablement, Marketing, and other teams at the director and VP level.
- The goal is to give the RVPs the leverage to run their regions as a business.
- This role does not manage sellers or own centralized programs. Central teams design the frameworks; the Senior Business Manager applies them regionally and turns them into decisions and action. The RVPs retain ownership of the P&L.
- The role reports to the Vice President and works as a senior individual contributor with no direct reports. The role operates with significant autonomy and broad influence across the regional leadership teams.
What you'll do:
- Own the regional business plan, scorecard, and business outlook covering revenue, gross margin, direct contribution, pipeline, and productivity. Directly manage and influence the P&L drivers, while the RVPs retain ownership of the results.
- Lead annual and quarterly planning, including target setting, quota and territory allocation, coverage models, and long-range regional strategy, in partnership with Finance and Sales Operations.
- Turn performance data into insight. Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities, quantify their impact, and bring clear, decision-ready recommendations to the RVPs and the Vice President.
- Own forecast quality and gap-to-plan management, and recommend corrective actions before quarter-end risk materializes.
- Serve as the trusted advisor and thought partner to the RVPs on regional priorities, trade-offs, and sequencing.
- Prepare and present executive-level materials for the Vice President, senior leadership, and regional town halls.
- Design and run the regional operating rhythm: weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, including agendas, inputs, decisions, action tracking, and follow-through.
- Hold regional Directors and cross-functional leaders accountable to commitments by tracking actions to closure and escalating risks with recommendations.
- Standardize inspection routines and performance conversations across teams, so the region operates consistently.
- Facilitate regional leadership meetings, offsites, and planning sessions.
- Advise the RVPs on headcount, coverage, investment, and capacity decisions, supported by business cases, scenario modelling, and return-on-investment analysis.
- Manage regional budget, expense, and headcount planning with Finance and HR, with RVP sign-off, and recommend reallocation when outcomes do not match investment.
- Track whether resources, including new hires, programs, and tools, are deployed effectively and deliver the expected outcomes such as ramp time, productivity, and margin.
- Contribute to organizational design and talent decisions in partnership with HR, including role design, span of control, and succession planning.
- Lead the region’s partnership with Sales Operations, Finance, HR, Enablement, Marketing, and other teams, influencing Directors and VPs without direct authority.
- Drive complex, multi-team dependencies and issues to resolution so the RVPs do not have to coordinate everything directly.
- Apply centrally designed frameworks, programs, and tools regionally, and give structured feedback to central teams to shape what comes next.
- Represent the region in enterprise planning forums and communicate regional priorities and decisions to senior stakeholders.
- Lead regional adoption of new go-to-market models, tools, and ways of working, with clear communication, measurable adoption targets, and outcome tracking.
- Identify and lead process improvements that simplify work for sellers and leaders, reduce administrative load, and improve regional efficiency.
- Use data, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve the speed and quality of regional decisions.
- Mentor and share best practices with peers in business operations roles in other regions.
What you'll bring to the table:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in sales operations, business operations, strategy, corporate finance, or consulting, with 5+ years in a senior or leadership role in a technology, software, cloud, or services organization.
- Proven experience managing, influencing, or directly supporting a P&L, business plan, or forecast for a large B2B sales organization.
- Track record of acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives, with executive presence and the ability to challenge and influence at VP level.
- Advanced financial and analytical skills, including forecasting, scenario modelling, and investment business cases.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level operating cadences and cross-functional initiatives, influencing without direct authority.
- Experience driving change at scale, including the rollout and adoption of new tools, programs, or operating models.
- Advanced proficiency with CRM (such as Salesforce), BI and reporting tools, and Excel; experience applying AI-enabled tools to planning and analysis.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, sound judgment, and discretion with confidential information.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field required; MBA or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
