This contract Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting role supports weekly sales reporting, periodic financial packages, and inventory performance analysis. You will examine actuals, variances, trends, and key business drivers across Sobeys, Safeway, FreshCo, Foodland, and Thrifty Foods. The work also includes data validation, reconciliation, reporting tools, and stakeholder support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly sales reporting across Canadian stores and business levels
- Produce P1-P12 financial packages with variance analysis
- Maintain inventory turns, days-on-hand, shrink, and KPI reports
- Analyze performance trends across Sobeys banners and business units
- Create executive summaries covering drivers, risks, opportunities, and trends
Requirements:
- Relevant university degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency with Excel and reporting or analytics tools
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder requests
