SMS Equipment is hiring a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician to support our construction equipment operations. In this role, you’ll put your expertise to work diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment. Base Wage: $52.21 per hour. Additional premiums may apply.
Location: Red Deer, AB
Schedule: 5x2 shift rotation
What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment using advanced troubleshooting tools
- Perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, and equipment overhauls
- Complete accurate service reports, timecards, and maintenance documentation
- Safely lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces as required
What You Bring:
- The successful candidate will be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (off-road).
- Proven shop and/or field experience with heavy equipment repairs and diagnostics
- A strong commitment to safety and clear, professional communication skills
- Valid Class 5/G driver’s license
- Willingness to travel and meet customer site access requirements
- Red Seal certification and experience with Komatsu equipment are considered strong assets
