Lead electrical building services projects in Ottawa with Smith + Andersen, applying design expertise, leadership, and client relationship skills across varied assignments. As an Associate on the Electrical team, you will lead designers and project managers with the Principal-in-charge. You will develop innovative design solutions, support proposals, mentor staff, and coordinate clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities. Your work will span project management, quality reviews, procurement, schedules, calculations, equipment selection, contract administration, and sustainable building design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead designers and project managers across business sectors
- Review reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Prepare proposals, schedules, concepts, and project documentation
- Coordinate project teams, meetings, site activities, and contract administration
- Develop client relationships and support business sector growth
Requirements:
- Eight or more years of electrical building services experience
- P.Eng or C.E.T. designation
- Strong leadership, communication, and independent working abilities
- Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, and major projects
- Knowledge of provincial codes, ASHRAE, CSA, and NFPA standards
