CANDU reactor structures expertise meets strategic technical leadership in this Specialist Engineer position supporting complex nuclear projects. Work across refurbishment and new build initiatives. This Specialist Engineer serves as a recognized technical leader for CANDU reactor components, systems, and structures. You will define engineering approaches, develop design modifications, resolve critical issues, and guide technical work across major projects. The position requires independent judgment and technical direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design of CANDU reactor components, systems, and structures
- Develop concepts and modifications meeting functional and regulatory requirements
- Resolve high-risk engineering issues with defensible solutions
- Review calculations, drawings, assessments, and analysis reports
- Guide technical work packages across project design phases
Requirements:
- Mechanical, Materials, or Nuclear Engineering degree
- Professional Engineer license in Ontario
- At least 15 years of CANDU or pressure vessel experience
- Knowledge of ASME Section III and CSA N285.0
- Classical stress calculation and solid mechanics experience
- Apply CANDU reactor structures knowledge, pressure boundary expertise, and engineering judgment to complex nuclear design challenges.
