Lead an engineering team and contribute hands-on to RBC’s AML Data Foundation Hub, building cloud-native data platforms and pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineers while contributing to design and delivery.
- Build and optimize batch and incremental data pipelines using Snowflake, Spark, and dbt.
- Design reliable, scalable, cost-efficient data systems using cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and infrastructure as code.
- Own data CI/CD, code review, testing, environment promotion, orchestration, and pipeline observability.
- Establish data quality controls, reconciliation, lineage, and retention practices aligned with AML and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Platform and SRE teams on service objectives, incidents, and postmortems.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering experience delivering production pipelines and distributed systems at scale, including 2-4+ years leading engineers.
- Hands-on Snowflake expertise, production Spark experience, and strong data modeling and medallion architecture skills.
- Experience with Airflow or equivalent, dbt, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with data quality, reconciliation, lineage, and data retention practices.
- Kafka or CDC, observability, security and privacy, financial services, and AWS experience are assets.
