Job summary
Manages the hotel’s event planning functions and staff, overseeing event administration from pre-event planning through post-event follow-up. The role coordinates transitions between sales and operations, supports revenue maximization and forecasting, and is accountable for guest and employee satisfaction and departmental financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Assign events to the planning team and oversee function space and group room blocks.
- Lead event planning operations, review event schedules and complexity, and address potential challenges.
- Manage customer budgets and inventories to support customer needs and revenue opportunities.
- Lead catering menu development and event management meetings, and uphold team standards and procedures.
- Review guest feedback, address service issues, and support continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.
- Develop vendor relationships and service agreements, and consult with customers about event objectives and requirements.
- Set service expectations, support employee training, provide feedback, and review staffing levels.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and four years of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related area; or a two-year degree in hospitality, hotel and restaurant management, business administration, or a related major and two years of relevant experience.
