School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) is seeking experienced educational leaders for its Principal Pool.
The pool is maintained for elementary and secondary principal vacancies that may arise across the district.
Candidates remain in the pool for two years after appointment.
Placement as a principal is not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
- Lead instructional improvement, curriculum planning, assessment, and student achievement initiatives.
- Promote inclusive learning environments, equity, diversity, and learner success.
- Build effective relationships with school staff, families, communities, and Indigenous communities.
- Support school operations, follow Board policy and district procedures, and meet workplace safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility to receive certification.
- Valid driver’s licence and a record of successful educational leadership experience.
- Experience as a successful principal or vice-principal.
French communication skills are an asset, not a requirement.
Compensation
$152,536-$169,806, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
