This position is responsible for developing the expertise and knowledge base of specific domains and projects. Defines overall project structures and appropriate staffing to maximize efficiencies across projects to achieve the intended business outcomes. Accountable for the successful delivery of domain specific projects, and engages with Senior Leadership to ensure timely decisions can be made throughout the project timeline.
Manages employees engaged in providing Information System Solutions and technical support in one or more functional areas. Manages one or more functional areas of information system solutions development and technical support, including:
- personal computer/client server support
- systems programming
- applications design and development
- database design and administration
- information security
- telecommunications and network support and administration
Develops schedules and assigns work to meet critical customer deadlines. Ensures that proper records and other documentation are maintained. May also perform complex IT tasks. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned, and communicates with management about project delivery status.
Demonstrates leadership in supporting tactical execution plans that enable the team to attain goals and long term strategic objectives. Ensures resources are appropriately allocated to projects based on business priority, need, and skill set. Keeps abreast of current skills and demand/supply in the marketplace, and anticipates resource needs for successful business outcomes.
Manages multiple project timelines, budgets, and resources across teams to ensure business expectations are delivered within specified timeframe. Ensures predictable, consistent and successful project delivery through direct management and overall coordination of large scale and highly complex projects. Tracks individual project status against plan, and works with management team to expedite resolution to blocking issues. Communicates status to IT management and business partners. Provides recommendations to ensure project schedule and delivery remain on target.
Develops internal expertise in the technologies and capabilities within specific domain. Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans. Position is located in Grand Rapids MI and any other unanticipated location nationwide; periodic travel may be required.
