SERVPRO of Prince Edward Island is hiring 2 Asbestos Abatement Workers (Asbestos Removers)
Business address and work location: 60 St Peters Road, Charlottetown, PE C1A 5N5. Work is performed at client job sites across Prince Edward Island.
Terms of Employment
- Permanent, full-time position
- Wage: $31.20 per hour
- 30 hours per week, day shift; overtime as required
- Benefits: health and dental
- Start date: as soon as possible
Duties
- Remove, encapsulate and enclose asbestos-containing materials and other hazardous materials (lead, mould, insulation) from buildings
- Handle, store and dispose of hazardous materials safely
- Set up and take down containment, scaffolding and barricades
- Assist with selective demolition
- Remove debris and clean up contaminants at job sites
- Load, unload and transport materials and equipment
Requirements
- Secondary (high) school diploma
- 1 year to less than 2 years of asbestos abatement experience
- Asbestos abatement training
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) training
- WHMIS certificate
- First aid certificate
- Fall arrest protection training
- English
- Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Able to work at heights, in dusty, noisy and hot conditions, in confined spaces and outdoors
