This Applications Engineer develops estimates for new and existing clients from consultants, engineers, contractors, and internal representatives. The work covers blueprints, specifications, take-offs, product selection, and pricing for integrated security systems. You will support proposals and project handoffs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, addendums, and project scope documents
- Prepare labor, material, equipment, and installation cost estimates
- Create budgets for alarm, CCTV, access control, and cabling systems
- Source competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors
- Develop bid proposals and submit required documentation on time
Requirements:
- Minimum five years estimating fire alarm or security systems
- Understanding of NFPA, NEC, and building code requirements
- Ability to interpret detailed construction drawings and scope documentation
- Experience with major security and fire system manufacturers
- Strong organization, accuracy, communication, and time management skills
