Secondary Electronics Engineering Teacher in Courtenay

Teach Electronics 11/12, Engineering 11/12, and Electronic & Robotics 9/10 with School District 71 through June 30, 2027, or incumbent return.

This temporary 1.0 FTE teaching position serves secondary learners in electronics, engineering, robotics, and technology education. School District 71 seeks an educator committed to inclusion, student success, safety, and collaboration. The successful candidate supports learning connected with post-secondary education, skilled trades, engineering, and technology careers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Electronics 11/12, Engineering 11/12, and Electronic & Robotics 9/10
• Develop safe, organized, and inclusive learning environments
• Instruct students in safe tool, equipment, machinery, and electronics operation
• Provide safety training, demonstrations, and supervision before independent equipment use
• Support STEM activities, robotics competitions, and community partnerships

Requirements:

• Knowledge and experience in robotics, engineering, electronics, or technology education
• Commitment to inclusive educational practices and student success
• BC Teaching Certification
• Bachelor of Technology Education or relevant Red Seal Certification preferred
• Shop Machinery Safety Certificate or equivalent training preferred
