School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay) is hiring a Counsellor for a 0.886 FTE temporary contract. The district assignment includes Kootenay Discovery School, Fernie Secondary School, and Jaffray Elementary/Jr. Secondary School. The successful applicant will serve students at the K-12 level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver counselling support for students in Grades K-12
- Work across three designated Southeast Kootenay schools
- Support Kootenay Discovery School at 0.30 FTE
- Support Fernie Secondary School at 0.286 FTE
- Support Jaffray Elementary/Jr. Secondary School at 0.30 FTE
Requirements:
- Master's Degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
- Specialization in counselling, psychology in counselling, or psychology
- K-12 degree, formal training, or teaching experience
- Trauma-informed practice training or experience
- BC Teacher Certification preferred
