We’re looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to help build and scale the next generation of AI-powered solutions. In this role, you’ll combine deep Generative AI engineering with direct customer impact, developing production-grade applications that support field services, technical operations and the continued evolution of the AiDASH SaaS platform.

Approximately 75% of your time will focus on designing, building and operating Generative AI solutions, including agentic automation platforms, product-integrated GenAI capabilities and internal AI applications. The remaining 25% will involve partnering with electric-utility customers to deliver tailored solutions, address operational needs and support data-related work, including GIS data corrections.

This opportunity is well suited to someone who brings strong experience with LLM-based applications, backend and distributed systems, cloud services and secure multi-tenant architectures. You’ll also have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of AiDASH’s proprietary platforms and the utility vegetation-management domain while collaborating with teams across engineering, product and professional services.

What you'll be doing

  • Generative AI Engineering | Approximately 75%
    • Build and expand AiDASH’s proprietary agentic automation platforms, including the Virtual Field Services Engineer and the Virtual Support Engineer.
    • Design and deliver Generative AI capabilities within the AiDASH SaaS product, contributing across the full development lifecycle.
    • Develop enterprise data assistants and conversational web experiences.
    • Build retrieval and orchestration services using retrieval-augmented generation.
    • Create intelligent workflows that transform conversations, documents, meeting notes and incoming requests into structured tasks.
    • Apply Generative AI to internal engineering operations.
    • Integrate, evaluate and monitor LLMs in production.
    • Track and continuously improve answer quality, source accuracy, latency, safety and cost.
    • Implement robust authentication, authorization, tenant-level data separation, audit logging, error handling, retries and observability for AI services.
    • Develop proofs of concept and MVPs, then help evolve the strongest solutions into secure, scalable and production-ready applications.
    • Contribute reusable tools, frameworks and engineering patterns.
  • Professional Services Delivery | Approximately 25%
    • Design and deliver customer-specific customizations and product extensions using AiDASH APIs.
    • Support customer deployments through operational data work.
    • Integrate AiDASH products with customer and third-party systems.
    • Prepare clear technical documentation, deployment notes and product demonstrations.

Collaboration

  • Partner with product, engineering, data science, security, professional services and customer-facing teams.
  • Communicate technical decisions, dependencies and trade-offs clearly.
  • Bring a collaborative and pragmatic approach to solving complex technical and customer challenges.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying production Generative AI or LLM applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java.
  • Experience developing web applications using React, TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • Experience working with microservices, REST APIs, multi-tenant applications and asynchronous processing.
  • Experience with AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience delivering software for enterprise customers.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You might also have

  • Experience working with utility, energy, geospatial or GIS data.
  • Familiarity with secure enterprise AI applications.
  • Experience moving AI proofs of concept into scalable production environments.
