Build C/C++ and Golang firmware for Samsara’s connected vehicle hardware platform, supporting development and operations across Canada. Work with real-time IoT signals. As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will architect, develop, debug, test, deploy, and maintain customer-facing firmware features. The Vehicle Intelligence team collaborates with product managers, customer support, firmware teams, and full stack engineers. Technologies include Linux, CAN, WiFi, USB, LTE, GraphQL, Buildkite, and Databricks. Your work supports safer, greener, and more efficient fleet operations through Samsara’s Diagnostics platform. Key Responsibilities:
Architect customer-facing firmware features using C/C++ and Golang Develop, debug, test, deploy, and maintain firmware solutions Build IoT products supporting more than 1.5 million devices Design observability practices for firmware rollout health Triage customer and quality assurance issues Requirements:
Eight or more years of professional software development experience Experience shipping production code and monitoring production systems Experience building metrics during firmware rollouts Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or engineering Experience with large-scale observability for production systems Apply senior firmware engineering expertise across C/C++, Golang, Linux, and observability for Samsara’s connected vehicle platform.
