The Senior Business Intelligence Specialist plays a critical role in transforming data into actionable business insights that support strategic decision-making across SSRU and Ryan Specialty Canada. This role serves as a key partner to business leaders, leveraging data analytics, reporting, and visualization tools to identify trends, measure performance, and drive operational excellence.
Working closely with stakeholders across underwriting, operations, finance, claims, and executive leadership, the Senior Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytical models that deliver meaningful business intelligence. The role will help shape data strategy, ensure data quality and governance, and support the organization's growing analytical capabilities through innovative reporting and automation solutions.

What will your job entail?
- Develop, maintain, and enhance business intelligence reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
- Partner with business leaders to understand reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Aggregate, transform, and analyze complex data from multiple systems and sources.
- Deliver actionable insights that support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making.
- Design and implement Power BI dashboards and visualizations that track key business metrics and performance indicators.

- Support data governance efforts by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of reporting data.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate new data sources and improve reporting capabilities.

Drive Business Intelligence and Analytics Excellence
- Design, build, test, and maintain enterprise reporting solutions and dashboards.

- Act as the organization's subject matter expert for business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
- Establish reporting standards, governance practices, and data quality controls.
- Maintain documentation for reporting processes, data definitions, and business rules.
- Monitor and improve data quality across reporting environments.
- Provide training and guidance to end users on reporting tools and dashboards.
Support Operational and Strategic Growth

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline. Master's degree or advanced analytics certification considered an asset.
