The position requires compassionate communication, medical information analysis, and informed judgment. You will work with Rehabilitation Specialists, employers, insurance carriers, and medical practitioners as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine benefits available through employer disability plans
- Review medical information for STD and LTD entitlement
- Develop recovery and return-to-work plans with specialists
- Conduct phone interviews about absence details
- Coordinate independent medical examinations when required
Requirements:
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to navigate difficult situations and conversations
- Ability to assess complex claims and contractual language
- Post-secondary degree, healthcare background, or related experience
- French language is an asset
