Position Summary
Russell Tobin is seeking experienced and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with Operating Room (OR) experience for a travel contract opportunity in White Rock, British Columbia. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative teams to provide safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures.
- Assist the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment throughout operations.
- Support patient positioning, preparation, and transfer according to surgical and safety protocols.
- Monitor patients pre- and post-operatively and report changes in condition to the care team.
- Perform documentation related to patient care, surgical procedures, and equipment usage.
- Adhere to infection prevention, sterilization, and workplace safety standards.
- Collaborate with surgeons, Registered Nurses, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, professional standards, and best practices in perioperative care.
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) experience.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Perioperative or surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Pay Rate: CAD $38 - $50 per hour

- Paid Travel Time (up to 7.5 hours each way)
