Working with the Environment Supervisor and Set Surfacing Supervisor or Lead, you manage sets' look, UVs, textures, and shading. Your work follows the internal technical workflow and the project's established artistic vision. You help interpret designs and match materials precisely for animated or visual effects productions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design textures and create shading networks for film sets
- Understand artistic requirements within the movie's visual style
- Execute and track supervisor or lead retakes
- Respect production processes and deadlines
- Prepare validation presentations in FLOW, also known as ShotGrid
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Maya and UV unfolding tools
- Mastery of Substance Painter and Substance Designer
- Knowledge of Arnold, shading systems, and rendering layers
- Previous set surfacing experience on animated or VFX features
- Understanding of lighting, colors, contrasts, shades, and shadows
