What you will achieve in this role:
- Lead the preparation and filing of consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, MD&A, and regulatory reports in compliance with IFRS and local standards.
- Manage the external audit process, including coordination with auditors and resolution of inquiries.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare financial analyses and reports for senior management and the Board to support strategic decision‑making.
- Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting collaboration, development, and high performance.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and compliance.
- Stay updated on accounting and regulatory developments and communicate their impact to stakeholders.
What you must bring to this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation required.
- 5+ years auditing mining companies at a public accounting firm.
- 5+ years progressive experience in financial reporting and accounting, preferably in publicly traded mining companies.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Canadian accounting standards, and TSX reporting requirements.
- Experience managing external audits and interacting with auditors.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
- Proficient in financial software and tools (ERP systems, Excel, reporting software).
