Riopel Consultant, established in Saint-Jérôme since 1998, is hiring a Vo IP Specialist to join its technical team.
We work in the information technology field, providing professional and technical support to businesses of all sizes, from Montréal to the Upper Laurentians.
IP telephony is at the heart of our clients' communications.
We are looking for a passionate person who will take charge of our phone systems, from installation to support, and become the team's go-to Vo IP expert.
The Position
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Vo IP Specialist handles the deployment, configuration and support of our clients' IP telephony solutions.
The role combines remote work and on-site interventions, in close collaboration with our technicians, system administrators and network team.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure and update IP phone systems (IP PBX, desk phones, gateways, softphone applications)
- Manage SIP trunks, phone numbers (DIDs), number porting and the technical relationship with telephony providers
- Design and program dial plans, auto attendants, call queues, schedules and voicemail boxes
- Analyze and resolve client issues (phone, email, on-site visits): call quality, echo, dropped calls, SIP registration
- Diagnose voice-related network issues: voice VLAN, Qo S, Po E, NAT and firewalls
- Plan and coordinate phone system migrations and new deployments
- Efficiently track tickets and requests in our management tool
- Document configurations and procedures in our knowledge base
- Train and support team technicians on Vo IP matters
Requirements
- College diploma (DEC) in computer science, networking or telecommunications, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in IP telephony (installation, configuration and support)
- Solid knowledge of the SIP protocol and voice codecs
- Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLAN, Qo S, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN, firewalls
- Bilingual (spoken French and English)
- Valid driver's licence and availability to travel to client sites
- Customer service-oriented, motivated and self-directed
- Strong analytical skills and quick execution
Assets
- Experience with 3CX (3CX certification an additional asset)
- Experience with Free PBX / Asterisk
- Experience with the Uni Fi ecosystem (networking, Wi-Fi, Uni Fi Talk)
- Working knowledge of Linux and Microsoft Teams Phone
- Experience at a managed services provider (MSP)
