Provide supportive care in a mental health and addiction setting at Peter Lougheed Centre as a Client Care Assistant. Help maintain safety while supporting recovery-oriented services.
As a Client Care Assistant, you will assist clients with addictions through a therapeutic, respectful, and structured environment. Working interprofessionally, you will support autonomy, health, and quality of life through daily living, social, recreational, educational, and employment activities. The unit serves adults requiring stabilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive care to clients with addictions
- Ensure a safe and secure facility for clients
- Respond to client requests with effective communication
- Build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
- Collaborate with health and service providers
Requirements:
- Grade 12 completion and current Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Two years working with at-risk populations
- Addiction and/or mental health setting experience
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training required
- Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques required
Bring addiction care experience, communication skills, and recovery-focused support to clients receiving services through the Concurrent Disorder Unit.
