Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and actively support a team of 3 to 4 technicians and apprentices to maximize shop efficiency and workflow productivity.
- Manage daily shop operations, prioritize equipment maintenance schedules, and assign repair tasks based on operational rental demands.
- Conduct hands-on technical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on high-reach aerial equipment.
- Enforce quality control standards, green tag verification procedures, safety compliance, and regular load testing inspections across all fleet units.
- Coordinate equipment movement into and out of the facility while maintaining high standards of shop cleanliness, heating, and organization.
- Support field service requirements and participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to provide rapid technical support when needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Journeyman certification, Red Seal designation, or recognized equivalent provincial trade credential.
- 3+ years of progressive hands-on trade experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing high-reach aerial work platforms or heavy mechanical systems.
- Proven supervisory experience leading technician teams, managing shop maintenance schedules, and enforcing safety standards.
- Advanced expertise in troubleshooting complex hydraulic systems, electrical schematics, diesel engines, and automated control assemblies.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and collaborative working environment.
