Lead multiplatform journalism at CBC London, producing Afternoon Drive with strong editorial judgment, audience focus, and breaking news skills on-site. This permanent Producer role supports CBC English Services in London, Ontario. You will oversee a daily radio current affairs program, coordinate newsroom coverage, and work with reporters and hosts. The position requires journalism experience, leadership, and confident work across digital, video, social, audio, and streaming platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee researching, writing, editing, vetting, and packaging Afternoon Drive
- Assign staff, allocate resources, and determine story priorities
- Respond quickly to breaking news across multiple platforms
- Create lineups for digital and streaming platforms
- Coach journalists and support high-quality original journalism
Requirements:
- Five years of journalism experience and a journalism degree or equivalent
- Daily radio current affairs production experience
- Knowledge of CBC Journalistic Standards and Practices
- Strong communication, planning, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Valid driver’s licence meeting CBC insurance requirements
