Report and edit French news on site for CBC/Radio-Canada, using strong story development and digital content skills across Northern Ontario. Cover communities from Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Hearst, or Timmins.
As a permanent Reporter-Editor for French Services, you will cover general news under a producer and senior editor. You will create written, video, and audio journalism, primarily for digital platforms. The work requires knowledge of Northern Ontario and its community issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pitch and produce short or long Northern Ontario news stories
- Create research, writing, video, and audio content
- Build relationships with diverse sources and contacts
- Edit audio and video reports within established deadlines
- Respond quickly to breaking news and provide analysis
Requirements:
- Journalism degree or equivalent and three years' relevant experience
- Excellent French and very good English knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of Northern Ontario issues
- Strong judgment, ethics, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on site and varied shifts
