These individuals work closely with clients to identify opportunities for growth, optimise operations, and enhance overall business performance.

In technology strategy at PwC, you will specialise in developing and implementing strategic plans to leverage technology for business growth and innovation. You will analyse market trends, assess organisational needs, and provide guidance on technology investments and initiatives. Working in this area, you will collaborate with stakeholders to align technology strategies with overall business objectives to increase utilisation of technology resources, driving competitive advantage.

As a Technology Strategy & Transformation Technical Architect, Manager, your role will include, but isn’t limited to:

  • Lead key parts of, and contribute to the delivery of, business-led technology-enabled transformation programs that put users and business outcomes at the centre — leveraging Enterprise Architecture methods (e.g. TOGAF ADM) to define current-state, target-state and transition architectures, and applying agile design, development and implementation methodologies where appropriate.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in your areas of focus — primarily Enterprise Architecture (business, data, application and technology architecture, and architecture governance) — with strong secondary expertise in target operating model design, concept of operations, technology strategy, and agile delivery and coaching.
  • Contribute as a team and workstream leader by managing diverse teams of motivated and talented individuals, contributing to their development and helping them reach their potential.
  • Identify and address client needs through critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on project direction such as setting priority of work packages, resource allocation, and work package scheduling.
  • Prioritize and handle multiple priorities and tasks; including leading and participating in multiple concurrent projects, while also contributing to practice development and business development activities.
  • Help others think critically and share complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences, including to senior executives.
  • Coach and collaborate with peers, including providing coaching, feedback and guidance on work performance.
  • Contribute to practice development activities (e.g. new service offerings, training packages, recruiting initiatives, marketing).
  • Contribute to business development activities, including writing proposals and presenting them to clients, and responding to RFPs.

Experiences And Skills You’ll Use To Solve:

  • Deep consulting or industry experience with a primary focus on Enterprise Architecture, including hands‑on delivery across business, data, application, integration, security and technology architecture, complemented by experience in target operating model design, concept of operations, technology strategy, transformation delivery and agile implementation.
  • Ability to act as an Enterprise Architecture subject matter expert by defining architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, target-state blueprints, roadmaps and governance, while flexing into adjacent roles such as operating model architect, transformation lead or agile implementation lead as needed.
  • TOGAF 9/10 certification, or an equivalent recognized Enterprise Architecture certification, is required; complementary agile certifications and experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner and/or Agile Coach are strongly valued.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Enterprise Architecture frameworks and modelling standards such as TOGAF ADM, Zachman, ArchiMate, UML and BPMN to client engagements, including producing business capability models, value streams, data models, application portfolios, integration patterns and technology reference architectures.
  • Experience establishing and running Architecture Review Boards, defining architecture governance, principles, standards and patterns, and managing architecture repositories.
  • Experience designing and assessing target operating models across people, process, technology, data and governance, developing concepts of operations, and translating operating model changes into architecture and transformation roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of modern architecture domains, including cloud and hybrid cloud, API and event‑driven integration, microservices, data and analytics platforms, cybersecurity‑by‑design, AI/ML enablement, automation, BI, blockchain, IoT and other emerging technologies.
  • Experience developing digital strategies, technology and IT operating models, product roadmaps, blueprints and implementation roadmaps that align technology investments with business priorities and transformation objectives.
  • Experience leading teams to deliver experience‑focused, technology‑enabled business solutions, including cross‑functional teams and large transformation programs; relevant experience in consulting, professional services or industry, with Public Sector, Telco and Retail experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, business or another technical area, with an MBA considered an asset; strong communication, presentation and writing skills for technical audiences and senior executives; business development experience, including proposal development and pursuit participation; additional certifications such as ArchiMate, SAFe, Scrum Master, Product Owner, PMP, ITIL or cloud architect certifications are assets.
