At Purolator, the technology behind cross-border shipping helps shipments move through complex systems and processes. We're looking for a Technology Business Analyst to own requirements for our shipping and brokerage platforms and the integrations that connect them. You'll work across business and technology teams with the autonomy to lead discovery, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and move work from requirements definition through delivery. This is a hybrid role based in Mississauga, Ontario, following our Head Office in-office policy.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business, product, engineering, QA, operations and vendors to understand problems, map workflows and define practical solutions.
- Own requirements from discovery through delivery.
- Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional and non-functional requirements; maintain assumptions, decisions, and change history.
- Facilitate workshops and cross-functional discussions to drive stakeholder alignment, decision-making, and requirements clarity.
- Analyze REST APIs, integration contracts and data flows, including synchronous and asynchronous processes, error handling and system dependencies.
- Support backlog refinement, Agile ceremonies, testing and release preparation.
- Work with developers and stakeholders to resolve questions and keep delivery moving.
- Use Jira and Confluence to maintain requirements, traceability, assumptions, decisions, open questions and project knowledge across teams.
- Use AI tools where they add value to analysis and documentation, and validate their output before relying on it.
- Communicate progress, risks and trade-offs clearly, and identify ways to improve team practices.
Experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on technical business analysis experience owning requirements and delivering changes to business‑critical applications.
- A sound understanding of REST APIs, integrations, data flows and the difference between synchronous and asynchronous processing.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria and requirements that developers and testers can use, including error scenarios.
- Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, Agile and Scrum, including backlog refinement.
- Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills, sound judgment, plus the ability to independently navigate ambiguity and drive requirements discovery with business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience using AI tools in your BA work, with a thoughtful approach to checking results.
- Experience in logistics, courier, freight, supply chain, brokerage, customs, or cross‑border shipping is an asset, as is experience with integration‑heavy enterprise systems and IT service management or tiered support.
Education
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders.
