Skills & Qualifications Required
- Active, unrestricted license to practice with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR certificate
- Nursing Diploma from an approved university or college
- BNSc preferred
Position Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competencies and skills that are essential for the delivery of safe and effective patient care
- Evaluates the health status of patients with complexity of care needs and determines the initial plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family members and members of the inter-professional team
- Works with the inter-professional team in establishing priorities for care including preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative aspects and participates in discharge planning
- Provides direct care to patients within his/her scope of practice in accordance with the College of Nurses standards, Regulated Health Professionals Act, the policies and procedures of Providence Care and all other relevant legislation
- Advocates for patients and their family as the major decision makers
- Protects the rights of patients and their family
