Sr. D365 F&O Solution Developer in Airdrie

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Developer to support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of our ERP platform.

This role will work closely with business stakeholders and internal IT teams to design, develop, test, and deploy customizations, integrations, workflows, reports, and extensions within the D365 F&O ecosystem.

The ideal candidate possesses strong X++ development experience, understands ERP business processes, and can deliver maintainable solutions following Microsoft best practices and the extension model.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop D365 F&O extensions using X++, including extensions to tables, forms, classes, data entities, and business logic.
• Create and enhance workflows, approvals, batch processes, and other automations that support finance and operational processes.
• Develop and maintain SSRS reports, business documents, queries, and data outputs; support Power BI and Electronic Reporting where appropriate.
• Design, build, and support integrations using D365 data entities, OData and REST APIs, the Data Management Framework, and applicable Azure integration services.
• Collaborate with functional consultants and business process owners to assess requirements, identify standard-platform options, and minimize unnecessary customization.
• Prepare technical designs, development estimates, unit-testing evidence, deployment instructions, and support documentation.
• Use Azure Dev Ops for source control, work-item tracking, build and release processes, and promotion across development, test, user-acceptance, and production environments.
• Participate in solution and code reviews, troubleshoot defects and performance issues, and provide technical support during testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.
• Support role-based security changes and assist with segregation-of-duties and technical-control requirements.
• Establish reusable development standards and contribute to the long-term supportability of the D365 F&O platform.
• Required Qualifications
• Five or more years of hands-on development experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX, including recent D365 F&O cloud experience.
• Strong X++ development skills and practical experience with the D365 F&O extension model.
• Demonstrated experience with table, form, class, and data-entity extensions; event handlers; delegates; and Chain of Command.
• Experience developing SSRS reports and supporting D365 reporting or document-generation requirements.
• Experience designing and supporting integrations using OData, REST APIs, Data Management Framework packages, or comparable D365 integration patterns.
• Working knowledge of Azure Dev Ops, source control, build pipelines, release management, and environment promotion practices.
• Experience troubleshooting application, data, integration, security, and performance issues across the development lifecycle.
• Ability to convert functional designs into documented, testable, and maintainable technical solutions.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and Power BI.
• Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, or other Azure integration services.
• Experience with Electronic Reporting, business documents, Dual-write, or adjacent Dynamics 365 applications.
• Experience with ERP data migration, data cleansing, reconciliation, and cutover activities.
• Knowledge of D365 F&O security roles, duties, privileges, and segregation of duties.
• Functional familiarity with finance, procurement, inventory, warehousing, project accounting, manufacturing, or related operational processes.
• Microsoft certifications relevant to Dynamics 365, Power Platform, or Azure.
