Audit Senior - Beaconsfield - £47,000 - £52,000

Are you an Audit Senior looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of your work, develop your client relationships and continue progressing towards management?

I'm working with a leading accountancy and business advisory firm in Beaconsfield that is looking to add an Audit Senior to its established Audit & Assurance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys running audits rather than simply completing individual sections.

You'll take responsibility for assignments from planning through to completion, work directly with clients and play an important role in developing more junior members of the team.

The role

  • Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Completing substantive and analytical audit procedures
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements
  • Identifying key audit risks and raising significant matters with Managers and Partners
  • Leading planning, progress and completion meetings
  • Managing budgets, deadlines and resources across your assignments
  • Supervising, coaching and reviewing the work of junior team members
  • Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key day-to-day contact
  • Working across a varied portfolio of businesses and sectors
  • Getting exposure to more technically challenging assignments as your experience develops

Depending on your existing experience, there can also be exposure to areas including group audits, IFRS, overseas subsidiaries, acquisitions, disposals, restructures and other complex transactions.

What are they looking for?

  • Recent audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, or be approaching qualification
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
  • Experience taking responsibility for audit assignments
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients
  • Experience supervising or coaching junior colleagues
  • The ability to manage several assignments and competing deadlines

You don't need to know absolutely everything already.

What matters is that you have a solid audit background, can take ownership of your work and want to continue developing technically and professionally.

Why consider it?

  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • 33 days' annual leave for new hires, inclusive of flexible bank holidays
  • Your birthday off
  • Holiday buy and sell options
  • Life assurance at 4x salary
  • Employee Assistance Programme and virtual GP access
  • Flexible health and wellbeing benefits
  • Professional subscription support
  • Electric vehicle and Cycle to Work schemes
  • Structured development and opportunities to progress your audit career

Most importantly, this is a role offering proper Audit Senior responsibility.

You'll lead work, develop people, deal directly with clients and build the experience needed to take the next step in your career.

As an employer, we are committed to ensuring the representation of people from all backgrounds regardless of their gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, or any other aspect which makes them unique.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to apply and would encourage you to let us know if there are steps, we can take to ensure that your recruitment process enables you to present yourself in a way that makes you comfortable.
