A senior data analyst in operations usually turns messy operational data into clear measures, dashboards and decisions that teams can act on. A strong candidate brings solid SQL and statistics, careful data modeling, and the habit of checking results against how the work actually runs.
At a company training self-driving systems largely in simulation, that means making sense of data from simulated and real operations alike. AI tools speed up query writing, cleaning and first pass analysis, so the analyst spends more time framing the right question and judging whether the numbers are trustworthy. The human parts remain deciding what matters to operations, spotting when a clean looking result is wrong, and explaining findings to people who must act on them.
This role builds experience working with large volumes of machine generated data, including simulation output, and with AI assistants used for analysis. A candidate can prepare by practicing SQL and statistics on messy operational datasets and by learning to validate AI produced results rather than accept them.
- Worth showing:
- SQL and data modeling
- Statistics and experiment design
- Operational metrics sense
About Waabi: A Toronto company training self-driving trucks and robotaxis mostly inside its own AI-generated simulator, rather than by racking up millions of real road miles.
