Represent Port Hood Co-op as its community-facing General Manager, combining co-operative values with customer service and operational leadership. Work onsite in Port Hood, Nova Scotia.
This permanent full-time position guides the retail store in support of members, employees, and community needs. The General Manager leads staffing, product quality, inventory, budgets, promotions, maintenance, and customer complaint resolution. The role reports directly to the Board of Directors and maintains regular collaboration with the President.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold co-operative values and positive member experiences
- Build relationships with members, staff, suppliers, and directors
- Lead promotions, displays, pricing, and sales activities
- Address complaints professionally with Board collaboration
- Oversee clean, safe, welcoming store operations
Requirements:
- Minimum five years of retail or food service experience
- Retail grocery or community-based retail experience preferred
- Familiarity with co-operative principles and values preferred
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct
