Develop 3D reconstruction algorithms at Planitar in hybrid Waterloo, Ontario, using C++, Python, and computer vision for reality capture.
As an Algorithm Developer, you will build the next generation Planix capture system with a tight-knit engineering team. You will convert raw images, LiDAR, IMU, and other sensor data into photospheres, point clouds, meshes, and other high-quality 3D outputs. Collaboration spans system engineering, embedded firmware, visualization design, and draft operation teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy 3D reconstruction algorithms
- Optimize processing pipelines from photon to mesh
- Integrate RGB, depth, GPS, and IMU data streams
- Scale prototypes into APIs and production-ready software
- Improve algorithm accuracy, reliability, and efficiency continuously
Requirements:
- Three-plus years developing, testing, and deploying algorithms
- Degree in computer science or related technical discipline
- Strong linear algebra and 3D projective geometry foundation
- Photogrammetry, SLAM, point cloud, and meshing experience
- Advanced C++, Python, computer vision, and deep learning skills
Apply algorithm development, sensor integration, and geometric computing skills to advance Planitar's 3D capture platform.
