About the Role Our client, a cutting-edge technology firm at the forefront of developing innovative user experiences for emerging platforms, is seeking a talented Senior UX/UI Designer specializing in Immersive Technologies to join their team in
Kimberley, Northern Cape .
This role is critical in shaping intuitive and engaging interactions within virtual and augmented reality environments, as well as other next-generation interfaces.
You will be responsible for the entire design process, from user research and concept development to wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of human-computer interaction (HCI) principles, spatial design, and the unique challenges and opportunities presented by immersive technologies.
Working in a hybrid capacity, you will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and 3D artists, splitting your time between our
Kimberley office and remote work, ensuring seamless integration of design and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate on designs based on feedback.
- Define and maintain design guidelines and style guides for immersive products.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in UX/UI design and immersive technologies.
- Work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site collaboration in
Kimberley with remote work.
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders effectively.
- Contribute to the overall product strategy and vision from a user-centered perspective.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer with a strong portfolio focused on immersive technologies (AR/VR).
- Demonstrated expertise in user research, interaction design, and usability testing.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e. g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Unity, Unreal Engine).
- Strong understanding of HCI principles, spatial design, and 3D interaction.
- Experience designing for various AR/VR hardware platforms.
- Excellent visual design skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model within
Kimberley .
- Bachelor's degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
