About the Role
Our client, a major financial institution, is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead complex financial systems implementations. This remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa, requiring a candidate with extensive experience in managing large-scale enterprise software projects, particularly within the finance sector. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of core banking systems, trading platforms, or financial reporting tools. Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of financial systems implementation projects. Manage project scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, and timelines, ensuring alignment with business strategy. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and third-party consultants. Oversee the configuration, integration, testing, and deployment of financial software solutions. Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations to ensure optimal outcomes. Identify and resolve project issues and impediments, escalating when necessary. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal compliance policies throughout the project lifecycle. Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years dedicated to financial systems implementation. Proven experience managing core banking systems, trading platforms, ERP finance modules, or similar enterprise financial software. Strong understanding of financial services operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SARB regulations). Expertise in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly preferred. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
