About the Role
Our client, a leading producer and distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), is seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations Manager to oversee their operations in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This critical role involves managing the end-to-end operational processes, including production, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of FMCG operations, supply chain management, and possess strong leadership capabilities to manage and motivate large teams. Oversee and direct all day-to-day operations, including production, inventory management, and distribution for the region. Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Manage and mentor a team of operational staff and supervisors, fostering a performance-driven culture. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food safety regulations. Implement and maintain best practices in warehousing and logistics. Manage operational budgets, forecast resource needs, and ensure effective cost control. Collaborate with procurement, sales, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless operations. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to achieve targets. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management, with a significant focus on the FMCG sector. Proven experience in managing complex supply chains and distribution networks. Strong knowledge of production processes, inventory control, and warehousing best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Experience with ERP systems and operational management software. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid role, balancing strategic planning with operational oversight.
