About the Role
Our client is a global leader in chemical manufacturing, urgently seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer for a fully remote position.
This critical role will ensure the highest standards of safety are implemented across all our operations, focusing on the prevention of incidents and the mitigation of risks associated with chemical processes.
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing robust process safety management systems, conducting thorough hazard analyses, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in process safety principles, regulations, and best practices, with a proven ability to lead safety initiatives effectively in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Conduct and lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, What-If, and FMEA studies.
- Develop and review Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant process safety regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and deliver process safety training to relevant personnel.
- Prepare and maintain process safety information (PSI), including P&IDs, safety data sheets, and relief system designs.
- Audit facility compliance with PSM elements and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to integrate safety into all aspects of the design and operation.
- Promote and foster a strong safety culture across the organization through communication and engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM principles, OSHA , and other relevant safety standards.
- Proven experience in conducting and facilitating PHAs.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and potential hazards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
- Exceptional remote communication, collaboration, and influencing abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are highly desirable.
- Must have a dedicated home office setup with reliable high-speed internet access.
