The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Service Writer to add to our maintenance team. This position will be out of our Bonnyville shop. This person is the primary point of contact for end-to-end work order management, preventative and predictive maintenance schedules with reporting duties to the Shop Foreman and Equipment Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Review equipment status daily, initiate system transfers
- Review the shop schedule with the foreman daily
- Monitor service progress and update completion dates while collaborating with the shop foreman
- Assist with third party vendor schedules
- Promptly and accurately create and close work orders for maintenance department
- Accurately track equipment repair costs through purchase orders and work orders
- Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers
- Assist shop foreman and management with compliance including internal policies, procedures and SOPs, WHMIS, TDG, forklift and crane training, etc.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of water trucks, semi-vacs, hot oilers etc. required.
- Proficiency with industry-specific software
- 3-5 years experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A strong sense of integrity, reliability, and professionalism
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to communicate with mechanics, customers, and management
- Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents in English
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
