Design quantum-device RF structures in British Columbia’s hybrid Senior RF Engineer role, using full-wave simulation and cryogenic measurement. Improve RF performance and power efficiency. Photonic seeks a Senior RF Engineer for its Hardware Engineering department. You will own electromagnetic design, simulation, and validation for on-chip and chip-scale structures delivering control signals to cryogenic quantum devices. The work spans first-principles analysis, fabrication, and measurement. Key Responsibilities:
Design transmission lines, resonators, and passive coupling structures Perform full-wave EM modeling using HFSS, CST, or COMSOL Optimize power efficiency against fabrication constraints and yield Correlate simulations with cryogenic measurements and iterate designs Lead design reviews and document technical decisions clearly Requirements:
M.Sc. or Ph.D. with approximately five-plus years’ experience Strong electromagnetics, transmission-line, and impedance-matching fundamentals Hands-on full-wave EM simulation experience RF measurement experience using VNA and spectrum analyzer Python or MATLAB scripting for automation and analysis Apply electromagnetic design, simulation, and measurement expertise to quantum control hardware as Photonic’s Senior RF Engineer.
