As an RVT in the Emergency Intensive Care Unit, you will provide small-animal patient care alongside a collaborative veterinary team. Apply patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, pharmacology, clinical procedures, and technical diagnostics. The department supports 24/7 advanced emergency and specialty care for York Region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical assessments and monitor vital signs
- Support emergency triage and intensive patient care
- Monitor induction, maintenance, and post-operative recovery
- Place catheters, collect samples, and run laboratory tests
- Prepare surgical suites and assist with procedures
Requirements:
- Complete a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program
- Hold eligibility for provincial registration
- Demonstrate anesthesia, pharmacology, and clinical procedure knowledge
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
- Safely handle and restrain animals appropriately
