ROLE SUMMARY

The skilled and reliable Sander Truck Operator is responsible for operating a sander truck to sand roads at the Eldorado Minesite during the winter months. This role helps maintain safe road conditions for vehicles and equipment by applying sand as required in response to winter weather and road conditions. The operator must be comfortable working outdoors in cold temperatures and performing physically demanding duties as required, while following all site safety procedures, operating guidelines, and applicable health and safety requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This JD is universal and includes a variety of responsibilities that may be relevant based on the project / location.
- Operate a sander truck to apply sand to mine site roads during the winter months.
- Monitor road and weather conditions and sand roadways as required to help maintain safe driving conditions.
- Operate the vehicle safely and responsibly in accordance with site procedures and traffic regulations.
- Work outdoors in cold temperatures and varying winter weather conditions.
- Perform physically demanding duties as required.
- Maintain communication with the Site Supervisor regarding road conditions, work progress, and equipment concerns.
- Follow all site-specific health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
ROLE CRITERIA
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Previous construction, industrial, mining, or equipment operating experience is preferred.
- Previous winter road maintenance or sander truck operating experience is an asset.
- SCOT certification is an asset; training may be provided to selected candidates.
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties required for the position and working outdoors in cold weather.
- Must be willing to complete a mandatory drug and alcohol test if selected.
- Must be willing to work a 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out rotation at the Eldorado Minesite.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety, reliability, and following instruction.
