A global electronics company is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Engineering to lead an international engineering organization of approximately 100 team members across North America, Europe, and Asia.
This is a key leadership role responsible for engineering strategy, product development, organizational development, and operational excellence across multiple global engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering leadership experience in the electronics industry.
Experience in power electronics, power supplies, or power conversion is highly preferred, while strong people leadership and global team management are especially important.
Lead and develop a global engineering organization of approximately 100 engineers and engineering leaders.
Provide engineering strategy, technical direction, resource planning, and organizational leadership across multiple global locations.
Drive new product development from concept through design, validation, qualification, manufacturing readiness, and production.
Strengthen engineering processes, execution, accountability, and operational excellence.
Develop and mentor Engineering Directors, Managers, and technical leaders.
Partner closely with Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
Drive product quality, reliability, cost reduction, VA/VE, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support customer requirements and technology development in growing markets, particularly
AI, data center, networking, and advanced electronics applications .
Collaborate closely with global leadership and teams in Japan and other international locations.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related electrical/electronics discipline is required; a
Master’s degree or Ph D is highly preferred.
Extensive engineering experience within electronics, power electronics, power conversion, or a related technology industry.
Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary engineering organizations, including Engineering Managers and technical leaders.
Strong experience managing global or multi-site engineering teams.
Demonstrated leadership in product development, engineering strategy, organizational development, and resource planning.
Experience bringing complex electronic products from development through manufacturing and commercialization.
Experience with AC/DC, DC/DC, power supplies, converters, inverters, or related power electronics technologies is highly preferred.
Strong communication, business judgment, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Experience working in a global organization and collaborating across different cultures.
Japanese language skills and/or experience working with Japanese companies or Japan-based headquarters is a plus.
