Senior Software Engineer, Payment Experience in Toronto

The Opportunity: We are on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Payment Experience Engineering Team. The Payment Experience team is at the forefront of our company, owning all of the interfaces that our merchants (customers) interact with. This role isn’t just about closing tickets; it’s about owning and driving complex features from design to deployment, and shaping the future of our customer-facing technology.

What You’ll Do:

• End-to-End Feature Ownership: Design, build, and deliver complex, high-impact features for the merchant platform, from start to finish.
• Technical Architecture & Design: Act as a key technical voice on the team, leading solution design discussions and architecting scalable systems.
• Code & Quality Excellence: Champion high SRE standards for code quality, testing, and supportability.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor and support the growth of other engineers on the team.

Who You Are:

• A Seasoned Engineer: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• A Distributed Systems Engineer: Deep experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed services.
• Strong in Go & Kubernetes: Comfortable working in Go and in containerized, cloud-based environments.
• Fintech or Payments Experience: Experience in financial systems or a strong understanding of how payments flow.
• Full-Lifecycle Owner: Enjoy working across the full lifecycle, from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Drive Results: Take full accountability and responsibility for your area of ownership.
• Business Minded & Customer Centric: Have a healthy dose of business acumen and a deep understanding of how customers use products.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $145,000 - $190,000 CAD. Final compensation will be dependent on experience, skillset, and role-related qualifications, and will include benefits and bonus as per company policy.
