Odoo ERP Technical Administrator in Vaughan

We’re looking for a hands-on Odoo ERP Technical Administrator to own the day-to-day health of our Odoo v17 environment. In this role, you’ll be the go-to resource for our Engineering, Procurement, Inventory, and Assembly teams, keeping the system running smoothly so they can focus on building world-class machines. You’ll troubleshoot issues as they arise, configure and improve the system, and make sure every change is tested and documented before it reaches production.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Tier 1/2 support for internal Odoo issues across Engineering, Procurement, Inventory, Assembly, and other departments.
• Quickly diagnose and resolve common operational blockers such as manufacturing order validations, stock move errors, picking discrepancies, and user permissions.
• Translate technical issues into clear, simple guidance for non-technical users.
• Manage user access and security groups across all departments.
• Build and maintain native configurations, including automated server actions, custom and inherited views, filters, and reporting dashboards.
• Monitor database health, scheduled actions, and automated email and system notifications.

Code Maintenance, Testing & Release

• Follow version control and staging-to-production deployment practices using Git and Odoo.sh, testing all fixes and deliverables in a staging environment before release.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of configuration changes, bug fixes, and troubleshooting playbooks.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing on larger, partner-delivered initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience administering and configuring Odoo (v17 or later preferred).
• Working knowledge of Python, XML, PostgreSQL, and Odoo’s development framework.
• Practical experience reading, debugging, and maintaining REST APIs, JSON-RPC, or webhook integrations.
• Demonstrated experience using Git and structured staging-to-production workflows.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• A quick learner who enjoys untangling complex, interconnected problems, including ones outside your existing experience.

Assets

• Understanding of core manufacturing workflows such as BOMs, multi-level assemblies, purchase orders, stock moves, and mechanical/electrical design processes.
• Familiarity with CAD/PDM environments (SolidWorks PDM or similar).
• Experience in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) or Make-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing environment.
