About Overchain
Overchain is the settlement layer for global businesses moving money across fiat and stablecoins. We provide the infrastructure that allows financial institutions, payment service providers, brokerages, fund administrators and large corporates to receive, convert and settle value at institutional speed and standards, with compliance built in from the ground up.
We sit at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets. Our founders come from institutional FX and payments, and the business is run with the same discipline: deep banking integrations, reliable execution, OTC depth and white-glove service for clients that move serious money. Overchain is FINTRAC-registered in Canada, and Toronto is a key hub as we build our banking relationships.
The role
We are looking for an Operations Associate with 1 to 3 years' experience in payments, financial operations or fintech operations. Experience in crypto or stablecoins is beneficial but not essential. Curiosity, competence and a willingness to learn matter far more.
This is a hands-on, varied role based in Toronto, supporting all core operational functions: payment and wallet operations, reconciliation, client onboarding, compliance workflows, transaction monitoring, reporting and internal tooling. You will liaise with Canadian and international partners (banks, liquidity providers, VASPs and integrators), maintain operational documentation and help test new platform features before launch.
You will work closely with our London team, so some flexibility to overlap with UK hours is useful. The role suits someone who has worked at an MSB, PSP, EMI, brokerage or fintech and is comfortable handling operational detail while improving processes.
Key responsibilities
- Operational support
- Handle day-to-day operational tasks across fiat and stablecoin payment flows
- Support wallet creation, crypto send and receive processes, and transaction monitoring
- Manage operational inboxes, client queries and cross-team requests
- Track incidents and coordinate with tech teams when needed
- Reconciliations and reporting
- Perform daily fiat and crypto reconciliations, investigating breaks and raising queries
- Assist with settlement processes, batch checks and balance confirmations
- Produce operational reports for management, compliance and finance
- Onboarding and compliance
- Support KYB and KYC workflows through Sumsub and linked providers
- Help ensure documentation, checks and approvals meet FINTRAC and wider regulatory expectations
- Maintain accurate records and assist with Travel Rule, blockchain screening and regulatory reporting tasks, including large virtual currency transaction reports
- Process and platform improvements
- Test new features with our product and engineering teams
- Suggest and implement improvements to operational processes and documentation
- Help maintain SOPs, runbooks and training materials
- Assist with configuration of internal tools (HubSpot, Make.com workflows and similar)
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Compliance, Product, Engineering and external vendors across Canada and the UK
- Coordinate with Canadian banking partners, liquidity providers and technical integrators
- Support ad-hoc projects as the platform scales
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years' experience in payments, fintech or financial operations
- Strong reconciliation knowledge and good attention to detail
- Understanding of payment flows (incoming and outgoing, settlement, ledgers)
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Eligible to work in Canada
Nice to have
- Exposure to stablecoin or crypto operations, or a personal interest in digital assets
- Experience at an MSB, PSP, EMI, FX broker, CFD firm or VASP
- Working knowledge of FINTRAC obligations for money services businesses
- Familiarity with compliance tooling (Sumsub, Chainalysis), HubSpot or Make.com
- Basic understanding of APIs and operational testing
- Excel or Sheets proficiency, or basic SQL knowledge
What we offer
- CAD 60,000 to 80,000 base salary depending on experience
- The opportunity to grow quickly in a business scaling globally
- Exposure to stablecoin settlement, payments, compliance, product and engineering
- The chance to be early in a high-growth institutional infrastructure business
