Contract Administrator – Large Contracts

We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator with a strong background in energy storage projects to support the evaluation of large, complex change orders within a multi-month contract assignment. This role requires technical understanding of energy storage systems, contract structures, commercial terms, and project execution. The successful candidate will review contractor submissions, assess entitlement, identify risks, and ultimately provide clear, well-supported recommendations for final settlement actions.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate large change orders related to energy storage projects (BESS, thermal storage, hybrid systems, etc.).
  • Interpret complex contract terms, scopes of work, specifications, drawings, and performance requirements.
  • Assess the cost, schedule, performance, and risk impacts of proposed changes.
  • Determine entitlement based on contractual obligations, industry standards, and project documentation.
  • Develop and deliver final recommendations for settlement, negotiation strategy, or required corrective actions.
  • Identify unsupported costs, inconsistencies, or gaps in contractor change-order submissions.
  • Work collaboratively with project management, engineering, legal, commercial, and finance teams to ensure aligned decision-making.
  • Prepare clear summaries, analysis reports, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Support dispute resolution or claim-prevention processes as required.
  • Provide ongoing contract administration support throughout the multi-month review period.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in contract administration, commercial management, or project controls on energy storage, power, or utility-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate large, complex change orders or claims.
  • Technical understanding of energy storage systems (e.g., battery chemistries, PCS/inverter systems, balance of plant, installation requirements, performance guarantees).
  • Strong ability to interpret contracts, specifications, drawings, and cost/schedule data.
  • Proven ability to synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in EPC or owner-side contract environments is highly preferred.
