The successful applicant would join a group of 49 cardiologists and 4 other hospitalists at UOHI, Canada's largest heart health centre. UOHI provides tertiary and quaternary cardiovascular care to patients from 16 hospitals in Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and across Canada. In addition to state-of-the-art catheterization and electrophysiology labs, a dedicated cardiac imaging facility with PET, MRI, CT, SPECT and echocardiography imaging, core facilities include 96 inpatient ward beds, an intensive cardiac care unit (ICCU) with 14 beds, an intensive cardiac surgery unit (CSICU) with 27 beds, a Day Unit with 36 beds, a Reference Centre with 11 beds and a Structural Procedure Unit of 6 beds.

The Division is renowned for delivery of outstanding cardiac care, excellence in education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and recognized internationally for its research in electrophysiology, cardiac imaging, STEMI/ACS coronary intervention, valvular disease, cardiac transplantation and pulmonary hypertension programs among others as well as strength in heart failure and structural interventions.

For our hospitalist physicians, UOHI offers opportunities for expanding clinical skills, continuing professional development, research, and an unparalleled work-life balance in a supportive clinical environment.

The Ottawa Hospital is a 1445-bed tertiary-care hospital serving Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec at four inpatient sites (Civic, General, Heart Institute, and the Rehabilitation Centre) and one ambulatory centre (Riverside). The hospital provides approximately 67,450 inpatient admissions, 178,200 emergency visits and one million ambulatory care visits annually.
