Corporate and commercial legal counsel can shape practical advice at The Ontario Cannabis Store in Toronto, supporting agreements, procurement, and regulated operations. This Legal Counsel joins the OCS Legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The work covers corporate and commercial matters across technology, intellectual property, ecommerce, procurement, and general business operations. You will help internal partners manage legal risk and support strategic and operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical advice on corporate and commercial matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial agreements
- Assess legal risk and recommend practical mitigation strategies
- Interpret legislation, regulations, directives, and OCS policies
- Improve legal templates, playbooks, processes, and controls
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws degree
- Good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- At least four years of relevant legal experience
- Commercial agreement drafting and negotiation experience
- Strong judgment, communication, organization, and matter-management skills
- Bring commercial judgment, negotiation expertise, and risk-based legal advice to OCS operations in Toronto and across Ontario.
