Support surgical care as an Operating Room Unit Secretary at Oak Valley Health, using medical terminology, Meditech, and precise clerical skills. Work includes days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
This position supports the Operating Room, PACU, and Surgical Admission and Discharge Unit. You will coordinate perioperative information, reception, scheduling, supplies, payroll, and project work. Success requires prior unit secretary or medical clerical experience, surgical program knowledge, and strong organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter preoperative and postoperative patient information
- Schedule Operating Room procedures and post-surgical clinic appointments
- Enter physician orders and complete home care requisitions
- Receive visitors and direct telephone calls appropriately
- Order supplies and complete assigned special projects
Requirements:
- Previous Unit Secretary or medical clerical experience
- Perioperative experience and surgical program knowledge
- Previous Meditech experience and Excel knowledge
- Medical terminology and 40 words-per-minute typing skills
- Strong prioritization, communication, and critical thinking skills
